Uses of money
It angers me so much to hear stories about how all these millionaires are spending their money. Champagne flowing through faucets, diamond grilled teeth, and using one hundred dollar bills to light cigarettes. Really? There are so many people in the country living off two dollars a day and this nonsense is going on. It just gets me so mad I want to scream at all of the people who waste their money life this. If you have so much money you can do anything with it then maybe a good idea would be to donate it to the people who do need it.

Thanksgiving!
I have been so caught up in spending time with my family to post on Thanksgiving so now I would just like to say that I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving because my family sure did. We did not have a lot of money to spend on food but we did have a turkey and eachother whom we are extremely grateful for. I love Thanksgiving because it gives me time to put my life into perspective and truly realize that I should be thankful for what I have because many people in today's world are poor.
Capitalists are ruining everything!
The capitalists around here are incredibly cruel by the way that they are stepping on the workers to get to the top where all the money is. They are certainly making my family look extremely poor even though we have enough money to survive. These few people making loads of money are abusing the population. This needs to stop somehow, hopefully soon.

Holy Car!
The Smith family that lives up the street from us just got a car! They let us look at it and even go for a quick ride around the block in it. It took Mr. Smith three attempts to get the actually on and ready to drive. The ride was truly awesome. Even though we could not go that fast I still would rather ride in a car than walk somewhere. The car has so many different parts to it that all work together to make it move. It sure does catch my attention, I mean it looks interesting. I personally, do not have a love for cars and how they work because it seems too high-tech for me. My husband Tyrone; however, stayed at the Smith's talking to Mr. Smith for four hours about it. All the people that have cars are very lucky. Even though they all look the same they are still cool. I wish we had the money to spend on personal items like that.

Andrew Carnegie Steel plant
I just got news that there will be construction on a new Andrew Carnegie Steel plant in Syracuse. I am not sure whether I am excited for this new addition or nervous. The reasons I am excited are that technology will improve for my children, more jobs will be available, a higher quality of life my children will be able to live through, and it will all be cheap. I am not excited though because I have heard about the flames, noise, and danger this comes with. The business is not worried about safety, only efficiency which scares me a lot.

Temperance Movement
I may join the temperance movement because alcohol has really been changing Tyrone's temper lately for the worse. Sometimes he really scares me when he has had too much, I cannot trust him with the kids once he has had a couple drinks too many. He doesn't really listen to me when I ask him to take it back a notch. Also, the children have been drinking way too much of it in the past couple weeks because we have had nothing else to drink with food, there must be something else to fix this.

The Telegraph!
Oh my goodness gracious I just finished reading the article in the Syracuse Times about the telegraph that was just invented and man am I blown away by it. It amazes me that it is possible to send messages from that great of a distance. My family and I are living through history right now I just know that this telegraph is a huge invention. I honestly do not know a lot about the invention itself nor will I learn but I hope my children benefit somehow by it. This invention sure does seem amazing.

Reaction to Erie Canal Completion
It is about time! Our factory manager has told us for years that the factory will be enlarging and producing more goods. Seriously, I think it has been over 1o years but I lost track and interest after the fourth year waiting for this "life-changing" canal to be complete. The factory did indeed become bigger and new laborers came in within a blink of an eye. Other than that the Erie Canal has not effected my life too much but I do believe it will effect my children's lives. This canal will hopefully be a huge success and lead to more projects that will improve the way of living for my children. I just want them to have all the opportunities in the world with no limits. I am anxious to see where this Erie Canal takes us and how it changes life. Take care and god bless.
Bio
Hi, my name is Delilah. Delilah Jackson that is. I am a proud 52 year old African American. I live with my handsome husband, Tyrone, and five kids, Ebony (9), Nia (6), Precious(11), Jamal (4), and DeShawn (13) in a small town outside of Syracuse, NY. Tyrone and I work as laborers in a factory every day for many hours. We have enough money to survive but it is only because of our hard work in the factory. Our children manage the house by cooking and cleaning, none of them go to school but hopefully that will change soon. I am a family devoted mother, I will do anything for my children to have better lives than I had growing up. Well that is all, take care and god bless.
